SUMMARY:A piano Recital ”The Other Wieniawski”
DESCRIPTION:The Polish Academy of Sciences has the honour to invita you to a piano recital ”The Other Wieniawski” consecrated to Józef Wieniawski’s works. The event will take place on the 3rd of November 2026 in the Polish Academy of SciencesScientific Center in Paris (74, rue Lauriston Paris 75116).\nZofia Łałak’s piano recital is part of a project dedicated to reviving the legacy of Józef Wieniawski – an outstanding pianist, composer and educator – whose repertoire remained outside the mainstream of concert life for many years. The project combines artistic work with source research, the digitization of archival materials, and the promotion of the composer’s piano and chamber music pieces. An important element of this research is the Fonds Józef Wieniawski collection, preserved at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where Wieniawski lived and taught for many years.\nThe recital program is enriched by a short multimedia presentation that explores the life of Józef Wieniawski, his artistic career, and the European context of his work. The event aims not only to highlight the composer’s exceptional music but also to showcase his place in the history of Polish and European culture.\nThe project is led by Zofia Łałak – a pianist, cultural manager, and graduate of the Conservatoire royal de Bruxelles, who was associated with the institution for many years as a piano lecturer and associate director of the Keyboard Department. Her work focuses on promoting Poland’s musical heritage and rediscovering the works of composers whose output deserves to be reintroduced into the concert repertoire.\nThe project was realized with the support of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage Republic of Poland scholarship.\nThis event will be held in French.\nDue to the limited number of places, those interested in attending the lecture are invited to register by sending an email to secretariat@paris.pan.pl ( secretariat@paris.pan.pl ) or by filling out the form: Recital de piano ”The Other Wieniawski” – Wypełnij formularz ( https://forms.cloud.microsoft/e/hTsWGq2qp3 )\nBy registering for the event, you accept the rules for the processing of personal data ( https://paris.pan.pl/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/Klauzule-EN.pdf ).
