On 20 October 2022, “Polish-French symposium on new regulations of reproduction: the role of adipokines” took place at the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Center in Paris, co-organised by the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Center in Paris and the Faculty of Biology of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. The event was inaugurated by the Director of the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Center in Paris, Dr Magdalena Sajdak, Prof. Jo\u00eblle Dupont of INRAE in France and Prof. Agnieszka Rak of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.<\/p>\n

The symposium was organised in the form of three thematic panels: “The role of adipokines on fertility regulation at central level: hypothalamus \u2013 pituitary<\/em>“, “The role of adipokines on fertility regulation at peripherial: ovary & testis<\/em>“, “The role of adipokines on fertility regulation at peripherial: uterus, placenta, embryo development & pregnancy<\/em>” and two poster sessions.<\/p>\n

During the Symposium, the latest findings on the involvement of adipokines \u2013 i.e. hormones produced by adipose tissue in the regulation of female and male reproductive function in various animal species and humans \u2013 were presented and extensively discussed. The plenary lecture was given by the eminent biologist Professor Sami Dridi from the University of Arkansas, USA. In addition to experienced scientists, the symposium was well attended by PhD students and undergraduates, who had the opportunity to present their research results in the form of oral and poster presentations. The symposium had a hybrid character.<\/p>\n

At the end of the symposium, during the final panel “Polish-French science possibility and future plan<\/em>” participants discussed the possibilities of scientific programmes and cooperation between scientists from Poland and France and planned joint new scientific projects.<\/p>\n
