{"id":18316,"date":"2025-05-07T12:54:31","date_gmt":"2025-05-07T12:54:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/paris.pan.pl\/podsumowanie-wykladu-from-world-war-ii-to-american-avant-garde-how-did-eastern-european-experiences-shape-new-american-cinema\/"},"modified":"2025-05-07T12:56:40","modified_gmt":"2025-05-07T12:56:40","slug":"podsumowanie-wykladu-from-world-war-ii-to-american-avant-garde-how-did-eastern-european-experiences-shape-new-american-cinema","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/paris.pan.pl\/fr\/podsumowanie-wykladu-from-world-war-ii-to-american-avant-garde-how-did-eastern-european-experiences-shape-new-american-cinema\/","title":{"rendered":"R\u00e9sum\u00e9 de la lecture \u00ab From World War II to American Avant-Garde: How Did Eastern European Experiences Shape \u201cNew American Cinema\u201d? \u00bb"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>La conf\u00e9rence <em>From World War II to American Avant-Garde: How Did Eastern European Experiences Shape \u201cNew American Cinema\u201d?<\/em>, qui s\u2019est tenue le 10 avril 2025 et a \u00e9t\u00e9 prononc\u00e9e par le jeune chercheur \u0141ukasz Kie\u0142pi\u0144ski (Universit\u00e9 de Varsovie, Universit\u00e9 de Toronto), portait sur l\u2019influence des exp\u00e9riences des migrants d\u2019Europe de l\u2019Est sur la formation du <em>New American Cinema<\/em> ainsi que sur le contexte plus large de l\u2019avant-garde cin\u00e9matographique am\u00e9ricaine d\u2019apr\u00e8s-guerre.<\/p>\n<p>Comme l\u2019a soulign\u00e9 \u0141ukasz Kie\u0142pi\u0144ski, le <em>New American Cinema<\/em>, n\u00e9 \u00e0 New York dans les ann\u00e9es 1950\u20131970, ne constituait pas une \u00e9cole esth\u00e9tique coh\u00e9rente. Ce qui le caract\u00e9risait, c\u2019\u00e9taient des valeurs communes : ind\u00e9pendance artistique, intimit\u00e9 et libert\u00e9 de cr\u00e9ation. Le mouvement se d\u00e9marquait \u00e0 la fois du cin\u00e9ma hollywoodien classique et de l\u2019avant-garde am\u00e9ricaine des ann\u00e9es 1940, proposant de nouvelles formes d\u2019expression filmique, plus personnelles. La figure centrale de ce milieu \u00e9tait Jonas Mekas \u2013 po\u00e8te lituanien ayant fui la Lituanie occup\u00e9e par les nazis, pass\u00e9 par un camp de travail en Allemagne, puis \u00e9migr\u00e9 aux \u00c9tats-Unis. Fascin\u00e9 par New York, Mekas y entama une activit\u00e9 artistique en tant que cin\u00e9aste et critique. Ses films autobiographiques, tels que <em>Walden<\/em> (1969), <em>Reminiscences of a Journey to Lithuania<\/em> (1972) et <em>Lost Lost Lost<\/em> (1976), expriment \u00e0 la fois son v\u00e9cu de migrant et l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re de la contre-culture am\u00e9ricaine. Mekas participa \u00e9galement \u00e0 la cr\u00e9ation de la revue <em>Film Culture<\/em>, qui servit de plateforme intellectuelle pour d\u00e9battre du r\u00f4le du cin\u00e9ma d\u2019auteur et du cin\u00e9ma personnel, inspir\u00e9 notamment par la <em>Nouvelle Vague<\/em> fran\u00e7aise. C\u2019est dans cet espace que se sont cristallis\u00e9es les id\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019origine du <em>New American Cinema<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Co-fondateur de <em>Film Culture<\/em> et acteur essentiel, bien qu\u2019aujourd\u2019hui oubli\u00e9, de ces d\u00e9bats, Edouard de Laurot, \u00e9galement connu sous le nom d\u2019Edward Lauda\u0144ski, d\u00e9fendait une vision du cin\u00e9ma radicalement diff\u00e9rente de celle de Mekas. Th\u00e9oricien et r\u00e9alisateur d\u2019origine polonaise, de Laurot consid\u00e9rait le film comme un moteur d\u2019engagement social et de r\u00e9affirmation des valeurs universelles. Dans des textes tels que <em>Towards a Theory of Dynamic Realism<\/em> (1955), il pr\u00f4nait l\u2019alliance entre l\u2019exp\u00e9rience personnelle et le contexte politique et historique. Ses films, dont <em>Listen, America!<\/em> (1967) et <em>Black Liberation\/Silent Revolution<\/em> (1971\u201372), r\u00e9alis\u00e9s en collaboration avec Malcolm X et les Black Panthers, constituaient une alternative engag\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019individualisme du <em>New American Cinema<\/em>. Le conflit avec Mekas, qui culmina pendant le tournage de <em>Guns of the Trees<\/em>, mit fin \u00e0 leur collaboration.<\/p>\n<p>Au cours de sa lecture, \u0141ukasz Kie\u0142pi\u0144ski a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que ce d\u00e9saccord artistique profond entre Jonas Mekas et Edouard de Laurot refl\u00e9tait des dilemmes \u00e9thiques et esth\u00e9tiques li\u00e9s \u00e0 leur
