With deep sorrow, we received the news of the death of Prof. Jerzy Pielaszek, former director of our Center. Through his outstanding work and active involvement between 2004 and 2012, he made a significant contribution to promoting and enhancing the prestige of the Center, thus helping to build the image of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the international scientific community. A testament to his achievements in developing Polish-French cooperation and strengthening the bonds between scientists of both countries is the Order of Academic Palms awarded to Prof. Pielaszek by the Minister of National Education of the French Republic.
Prof. Pielaszek combined exceptional organizational talents with diplomatic skills, making the Scientific Center in Paris an important landmark on the scientific map of Europe. He will remain in our memory as an outstanding scientist, leader, and mentor.
