Between June 11 and 13, 2025, the Polish-French Symposium on Ultracold Matter took place for the third time within the welcoming walls of the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Station in Paris. This exceptional event was made possible thanks to the fruitful collaboration between the Institute of Physics and the Center for Theoretical Physics of the Polish Academy of Sciences, together with the French Laboratoire Kastler Brossel in Paris, and supported by the QuanTiP – Quantum Technologies Île-de-France network.

Held regularly since 2021, these symposia have become an important platform for meetings between outstanding physicists from Poland and France. They not only offer an opportunity to deepen existing research collaborations but also serve as a source of inspiration for initiating new scientific contacts. The outcomes include numerous joint publications in renowned journals, as well as international projects and grant proposals.

This year’s edition featured 12 thematic sessions, during which 24 speakers representing leading theoretical and experimental groups from both countries presented their research. The topics covered the latest advances in ultracold matter physics – ranging from innovative theoretical and experimental methods, through fundamental aspects of quantum physics, to applications in precision sensing and emerging quantum technologies.

The program also included dedicated opportunities for early-career researchers, with two poster sessions showcasing a total of 15 posters. Both PhD students and experienced scientists shared their results and engaged in thoughtful discussions with participants, creating an atmosphere of genuine intellectual exchange.

It is worth emphasizing that ultracold matter physics is among the fastest-developing fields in modern science. In recent years, it has been recognized with several Nobel Prizes, underscoring its fundamental importance – both in the context of basic research and in the development of future quantum technologies.
