Sisterhood: Women Sculptors in the 19th- and 20th-Century French Artistic Community
International academic conference Sisterhood: Women Sculptors in the 19th- and 20th-Century French Artistic Community will take place on 23-24 June 2026 at the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Center in Paris. The event is organised by the Polonika Institute, the National Museum in Warsaw, and the PAS Scientific Center in Paris, in cooperation with the Centre de civilisation polonaise at Sorbonne Université, the Polish Institute in Paris, and the Musée Camille Claudel.
The conference will focus on the activity of women sculptors within the French artistic community of the 19th and 20th centuries, with particular emphasis on international networks of cooperation, artistic education, and the role of female solidarity in the development of artistic practice. The meeting forms part of a long-term research project devoted to Polish women artists active in France.
Researchers and curators from various countries will take part in the conference.
The event will be held in English.
