The fifth conference on quality in medicine, co-organised by the Copernicus Institute for the Arts, Sciences and Law of New England and the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology, was held on 19 June 2025. The conference was also supported by the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Centre in Paris. This year’s edition focused on the role of international cooperation in developing oncological research in Poland and France. Doctors, scientists, and representatives of research institutions attended the event, creating a space for the exchange of experiences and analysis of effective models for improving the quality of healthcare.

The conference provided an opportunity to review the collaboration between the Curie Institute in Paris and the Maria Skłodowska-Curie National Research Institute of Oncology. Joint research projects carried out under the Curie4Curie programme were presented, and issues related to research on rare cancers and the early phases of clinical trials were discussed.

The conference lasted three days. On the first day (18 June), a networking session was held at the Polish Embassy in Paris, enabling new contacts to be established and existing collaborations to be strengthened. On the second day (19 June) of the conference, at the Polish Academy of Sciences Scientific Centre in Paris, substantive sessions led by experts from Poland and France took place. The event concluded with a visit to the Curie Museum on 20 June, symbolising scientific cooperation and the continuation of Maria Skłodowska-Curie’s mission.

The conference emphasised the importance of international scientific collaboration and its tangible impact on improving treatment quality, while also opening up new avenues for collaboration in public health.
