Walk in the footsteps of Maria Skłodowska-Curie

In partnership with the Polish Institute in Paris, the POLONIKA National Institute of Polish Cultural Heritage Abroad is organising a guided walk in the footsteps of Maria Skłodowska-Curie. The walk will take place on Saturday 25 April at 10:00 am.

Led by Ms Defontaines, the walk will explore places linked to the life and work of one of the most famous female scientists in history. Participants will learn fascinating facts about her life, as well as the historical context of the places visited. This is a unique opportunity to visit the locations where the researcher lived, studied, and conducted her revolutionary research, offering a deeper insight into her extraordinary scientific and personal journey.

The walk follows the event held the previous day at the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Research Station in Paris. This event was organised in collaboration with the Maria Skłodowska-Curie Museum in Warsaw and the Foundation for the Development of Education for Industry. It was dedicated to the launch of the French edition of the book Maria Skłodowska-Curie · Albert Einstein. Letters 1911–1932′. This book presents the complete correspondence between these two exceptional scientists for the first time, revealing their scientific collaboration, unique intellectual relationship, and friendship.

Prior booking is required to participate in the walk. Registration is now closed as the maximum number of participants has been reached.
