Symposium finalizing the realisation of the Polish-French partnership project HARMONIA financed by the National Science Center (NCN)

Programme Poster

This meeting will allow to summarize the realization of Polish-French project funded by National Science Center for Poland from 8th edition of HARMONIA program. The coordinator of this project was Dr. Daniel Żarski from Institute of Animal Reproduction and Food Research of Polish Academy of Sciences in Olsztyn, Poland, who collaborated with different French entities: Laboratory of Fish Physiology and Genomics of INRAE from Rennes, University of Lorraine from Nancy and GenoToul from Castanet-Tolosan. The aim of this project was to find molecular quality markers of eggs in pikeperch – a commercially relevant fish species for Poland and France – as well as understanding the role of specific types of molecules in egg developmental competence.

During the meeting all the results will be presented, which allowed to generate first complex molecular profile of pikeperch eggs. Additionally, part of the research conducted allowed to fine-tune hatchery protocols for this species, which were found to be relevant tools at the European commercial fish farms. The project, for now, allowed to publish 7 scientific articles in renowned scientific journals.

A very important part of the planned meeting will be the discussion on coordination of further publication of the obtained data as well as on the areas of further collaboration among all the partners.
